Today flew by! I don't know why, but it just did! This morning I had to take my car to the Tire and Lube Express before work so I could get my stinking tire fixed. Then it was time to go to work! We are getting an addition to our editing software at work and I'm SUPER excited about it! So we had an hour long conference call about that, along with a few other things I had to deal with and before I knew it, it was 2:00 and time to leave for the day!
My time at home was short lived and before I knew it I ended up at the gym. And it was time for Zumba! I got to workout with an old friend that I recently reconnected with and had a very good time!
Then it was time for small group bible study :-) I love this bible study!! There's usually only 8-10 people there and it's a small breakout from church where we discuss the previous Sunday's sermon and break it down and really dive in! It's great! There's a man that comes that reminds me of my dad before he got sick. So it makes me a little nostalgic, but I love it!!
All in all a pretty good day! I made good eating choices all day and it zoomed by! Nothing particular stuck out so I guess that's it!
Good night friends :)

I started this journey almost 5 years ago. I was in a weight-loss competition and experienced significant (72 pounds) weight loss for the first time in my life. Once the competition was over, I spiraled out of control until I eventually gained every pound back PLUS MORE. As of June 19th, 2016, I'm back in control and I'm headed toward success! Please join me!

Day 101: I think I Can...
Today went pretty good until tonight. I delivered my Zombie Cake to a satisfied customer and that's always nice. I spent the better part of the morning and early afternoon watching Vampire Diaries. And I don't feel guilty about it one bit! For the past few months on my days off I have had a list of things to do or places to go or cakes to make, and I haven't had hardly any time at all to just relax. There were probably 6,000 more productive things I could have been doing, but I chose to take some time out for me! I tell ya what though...I'm going to HAVE to devote some serious time to deep cleaning my house after the end of this competition! It's GOT to happen!
So after I drove to town to deliver the Zombie Cake, I went to the Y. I tried something I haven't tried in a long while...jogging. It felt pretty good! I didn't make it very long, but I didn't get exhausted either! I really think
I can start adding some jogging intervals into my workout schedule :) I'm excited about that! So I did about 10 minutes on the treadmill and then 15 on the Elipticle and then I took a short break before heading to Spinning class and then to Zumba. In the middle of spinning class somebody started talking about the fitness challenge that I'm in and someone asked if anyone had lost a lot of weight and the lady next to me pointed to me and said, "she has!" so they asked me how much I had lost and I told them...and then everyone gave me a round of applause! It was crazy!! Zumba was good tonight. I love it when we do a bunch of songs that I know now. It makes me happy :-)
On the way home tonight we got a flat and it stunk! Because I was exhausted and just ready to go home :( but we got it all figured out and made it home.
Now I'm ready to hit the hay! Sleep tight!

Day 100!! Oh my! Weigh-Day Number Fourteen
I can't believe it's been 100 days! It was 90 days only 10 days ago so I don't know why 100 seems like such a big deal to me but it DOES!
Today was weigh day...I didn't see a big number like I had hoped, but it was negative. I lost 1.6 pounds. So that puts me at 288.8 which is a little over 61 pounds :-) so I'm in the 280's AND I've lost over 60 pounds!!
Today was a good day, I did have a couple of Malano cookies thanks to a cake I was working on, but other than that it was good :-) I had my normal oatmeal for breakfast, and for lunch I tried something new that turned out great. I put salsa on my chicken breast :) something simple, but it added some really nice zesty flavor to my lunch! Even though I had those cookies I'm pretty sure I'm still low on my calories for the day...so that means a SMOOTHIE for desert! And we all know how I love my smoothies! Hehe
So I slept late today due to a stinking migraine. I've been having them almost every day and it's driving me crazy! I spent a large amount of the day working on a Zombie Cake that turned out pretty awesome and then I headed to the gym to workout!
Tonight was Ypump and then Zumba. Zumba was a bit more interesting than usual. We had a visitor join us from a local radio station and as the only male in the class, he was up front and had a co-worker with him recording his workout. He flailed around like an idiot and definitely couldn't keep up with us! It was quite hilarious!!
After class I spent almost an hour talking to a girl from Zumba who is my age and super sweet! I look forward to getting to know her better!
I usually go workout with my momma right after bible study on Tuesdays, but bible study was cancelled and then my mom called and said she wasn't feeling well, so I got to come home and eat dinner and finish the Zombie Cake. :) it was a Quite productive day!!
Now I'm watching Vampire Diaries and Relaxing!! So glad I still have time for that occasionally!!

Day 99: Something about a Monday
I feel good! I just thought I would share that with you. :-)) I'm pretty sure that every pair of buttoning pants that I wore 99 days ago I can officially pull down without unbuttoning them! Lol. Most of them don't look really baggy yet, but my jeans do not look cute anymore! The one pair I could wear are really baggy and even the pair I talked about being able to get in to on Day 36 are too baggy. Yay!!
Today has been another successful day. :-) It sure wasn't void of any temptations, but there's something about Monday's that make it easier for me to overcome my body's natural instinct to eat crap. Oh yea, I know what it is...weigh day is tomorrow!! Lol. I'm really hoping for a great number this week! The start to the week wasn't good, but the last half has been great! I wish I could do really really good all week long! I bet I would see bigger numbers on the scale if I did!
So I forgot to mention this, but back when I started I was told that the Healthy Living Challenge was going to be ending March 12th. Not anymore!! They added an extra week, so now it's going to end March 19th. Well to allow people a few days to weigh-in around work schedules and stuff, the final weigh-in is March 23rd. I don't know exactly how it will play out...I just know that I wanna stinkin win! After the competition ends I still plan to keep going with my blog, because this is what keeps me on my toes:) but I plan to start weighing in bi-weekly afterwards. I may change my mind about that when the time comes...but we will see. I just know that as I drop the weight, the amount of weight-loss will become less and less and maybe talking about it weekly...there just may be some weeks where I don't lose any weight. That's definitely NOT the plan. But I don't want to set myself up for disappointment.
Today was another successful day! After work I went to Zumba with my sis and then we went to her house and had dinner. Dinner was REALLY good! We got one of those dinner in a bag things. Lol. And it was like a beef stew but very calorie friendly and it was delicious!
Alright, I've got some cakes to bake....I'm making a Zombie cake, SKEERY! Haha Have a good night!

Day 98: My heart is so full!
I had my breath taken away today. I was at church. Feeling great. We had worship, and it was a true blessing to me today. These days our Sunday morning worship consist of all guys, which is great, but I LOVE to worship with a female singer. I connect more. I get more out of the service. I can't explain it. And Lydia is my favorite she only 17, but God has blessed her with a gift of not only singing, but connecting to people in a way that enriches their worship. She usually only comes on Saturdays because her parents have her go to their church on Sundays. I can understand that, but it makes me sad, because I work through Saturday worship, so I'm not able to come anymore. And I greatly miss it. But this morning...there she was on the stage! I was so excited :-) and our worship was awesome for me today.
Then Chad starts the sermon and at one point he is talking about people spurring other people on and he gave an example that I honestly can't remember and then he look at me and says something like, "Honor starting her weight-loss journey and blogging about it every day has spurred the entire church on to making a commitment to lose 2,000 pounds!" What? Me? I thought that was all about the guy that needed to lose the weight (and it is), but they were inspired by me! Wow. I was speechless and utterly humbled! God is so amazing and my morning was one to top all mornings :-)
My friend Olivia that has been with me on this journey weighed in today and is at 35 pounds weight lost and 17% for her Percent of Weight lost! That is AMAZING! People tell me how awesome it is that I've lost 59.6 pounds in three months...ok...she has lost 35, but she started out at a lower weight so her percentage is the EXACT same as mine!! That means that Chica has been working her tooshy off and done a Fantastic job at it!! I'm so proud of her! She says I inspire her and I say she inspires me...so between the the two of us, we have a really great thing going!!
I had my Vegetarian style lunch again today :-) there's a few different kinds of those little trays and today I ended up with: baby carrots, Brocolli, grape sized tomatoes, apples, mini pretzels and cheese cubes. So ver similar to yesterday, but a little different. These for lunch make me feel like I'm making a much healthier decision than a Sub sandwich. Much less sodium and still a nice variety of food. I really have to force myself to figure out some stuff that works for me to being to lunch and start doing that. I can't afford to keep spending $5 every day for lunch! And I really like going over to the Y and getting some exercise in on my lunch too. I would love to get to where I could do some jogging too, but right now I'm pushing it already with my knee, so I really think I need to get some more weight off before I start that up. I don't want any unnecessary injuries to put a stump in my progress!! But I do have a standing date with a friend to run a 5k next year...so I've got to get to the jogging/running sooner or later!! :-)
So now I'm off of work, did a little grocery shopping (had to get some more fruit for my insane smoothie addiction, lol) I made myself a really healthy dinner. I fixed grilled shrimp, creamed spinach, baked potato with salsa, and corn on the cob. And all of that was less than 400 calories! I would catch a picture at the end of my blog, LOL. Everything was really good, except for the creamed spinach, I just couldn't get past the taste!!
Now I'm headed to Dexter to go workout with my momma. Have a good night and I'll talk to you tomorrow!

Day 96 & 97: Road Blocks
Wow I can't believe I don't blog yesterday! I'm addicted to Vampire Diaries right now and after I got home I watched a few episodes and passed out! Yesterday was a very hard day. This whole week has been hard. I keep expecting it to get easier, but this week has been one of the hardest. I can't seem to make good choices am its ticking me off! I mean I haven't been going crazy or anything, but I definitely have not been making the best choices! Yesterday I really felt myself slipping...and I kept reminding myself of how far I've come and how important this is to me and I have to make this work. This is a lifetime, not a phase. It's something that I will always struggle with! But pure happiness is worth it!! My body ALREADY feels so much better! I can't imagine how I will feel when I'm not obese anymore. It's something I've NEVER experienced before. Not since I was 7 anyways. And I don't remember how I felt then. Lol. I want this so bad!! So why do I keep Putting up road blocks and hazard signs! It doesn't make any sense! Oh wait...yes it does...I'm an addict. Addicts crave what they're addicted to. While I do have issues with overheating healthy food too, I think the biggest problem is that I crave processed and sugary foods. It's something that has been a part of my diet or my entire life! And I just don't think my body is 'over it' yet.
Today was one of those days that I think my blood pressure was probably really high again. I ate a very unhealthy dinner last night that was high in sodium and I think it caught up with me. I knew better...but I still did it. And I payed or it today. There is, of course, a chance that this wasn't what caused my 'episode' but it seams a little to ironic that it only seams to happen when I have a really terrible dinner the night before.
Today, I have done an amazing job on my food choices so far. Oatmeal for breakfast, as usual, and then some Light Pringles for a snack, yea I could have done something healthier like veggies or fruit but I think that's a good choice. I had a really great lunch! I went down to Subway to order my usual turkery sub, and they had a sign up saying their debit/credit machine was down, and their toaster was too!
So I went over to the deli area and thought about some popcorn chicken. Um no way! There's Over 400 calories in a little tiny container of it! I was so sad. So I went on a hunt for a salad. They sell two pre-made salads that I like, and what would you guess? Out. I was really starting to think I wasn't meant to eat lunch today!! So I go over to get some of the pre packed apples with yogurt dip and I see these little trays that are only $2 each and I chose one with Broccoli, Baby Carrots, Cheese, Almonds, and ranch dip for around 300 calories! And then another with apples, grapes, and cheese cubes for like 180 cals! So all together 480 and I was STUFFED after I ate! And feeling pretty proud of myself. :-) I even went to the Y and got 10 minutes in on the Elipticle! Very productive lunch break!!
The rest of my work day flew by pretty fast until that last hour, which I hate, because I'm used to closing at 7 and the hour wait until 8 is a real BUMMER!
I went to dinner with my sis after work. She mulling over some ideas for a potentially awesome change in her life and I can't wait to see where it takes her!!
Have a good night!

Day 95: Small group
Today was a very hard day for me. It was one of those days where I felt hungry all day. I made a homemade smoothie for breakfast and it turned out great! AND after I drank it I was pretty full! But then a couple of hours later, I was hungry again...ok I brought almonds to work with me, so I had them. The thing about call Linsey is that you may not feel full right after you eat them, but shortly after work you do feel the hunger subside. Plus, nutritionally, they're very good for you. Today was a short work day and I had already made plans to go spend a little time with one of my friends after work who just got a new horse and I wanted to meet him. :) So I had it planned out to go straight home after work and change into casual clothes and have some lunch and then over to her house. Which is exactly what I did. I stayed at her house for about an hour and a half and by the time I made it back to town, my body said it was starving again...uh NO! Not possible. So yea, a long story short, is that I didn't make it out of the night where I wanted to be on my calories and now I'm sad about it.
My workout was pretty good tonight and then I had bible study, which I always love <3 Tonight was 'Small Groups' and I really like that bible study a lot. It's every Thursday. One of our other small groups has a guy in it that really has a lot of weight to lose for his health and so they decided to support him, by starting a weight-loss challenge with him. It has swollen into a whole church thing and someone decided that we, as a church, we're going to lose 2000 pounds in a year. The problem that I foresee with that is that their really aren't a whole lot of people on board with it. I'm obviously all for it! But my small group is not interested :-( Someone made the comment tonight that they would just count my weight-loss for the team. Haha ok nice compliment, but I would love it if everyone would really jump in and do this! I've said before that I feel like living a healthy lifestyle is very much something God wants from us. There are many scriptures to back me up on that. I just wish people would really realize how this is an issue. But I feel like I'm talking to a brick wall with that subject right now.
God is great. I have been so blessed with so much success in this journey and am so thankful that even when I make bad decisions...I can go to bed and wake up the next morning with a brand new day and a fresh start!!
Good night friends!
