October 6th, 2016: 10K For the Win!!

So I had anticipated walking on my lunch break today. I hate the actual act of doing it, but afterward I am sooooo proud of my accomplishment and getting a jump on my steps for the day. However, come lunch break time...it was over 85 degrees outside, and this girl does not do well in direct sunlight over 85 degrees. I get heat migraines....and since I'm all on this whole "no migraine" thing these days, I'm not about to voluntarily get one! In fact, I did get one on Tuesday! It was 89 degrees outside, I had NO idea, when I started walking, that it was that hot. There was a nice breeze and it was ok. But after walking in the sun all that time, it got to me, and I had a mild migraine (worse than a headache, but not as bad as a normal migraine) for a few hours afterward. So no, I didn't want a repeat performance today. Plus, I was taking note of how dog-on sore my upper thighs and calves were! Something I do want to note though, my feet weren't killing me today. That is a HUGE improvement from the past. I think the Plantar Faciitus may actually be improving! That makes me super happy!

Let's back this up to this morning for a sec...I'm on my Apple Cidar Vinegar 'kick'. I really feel like it's helping with some things. First of all, the whole detoxing thing, yea...that's happening! Lol. I also have noticed that, even though I'm not taking water pills this week (testing this stuff out for real) I have still been peeing a lot. Which is a BIG deal for me, because I retain water really badly. That's why I always have swollen ankles. Today I took my ACV with some V8 Vegetable Juice. Best Combo Yet! Except for one small problem. Jamie got the regular V8 instead of the low sodium kind, so it has an insane amount of sodium in it. I don't know if I'll continue to use the V8 because of how much sodium it does have, but I have enough to make 2 more, so I'll go ahead and drink it. It tasted SUPER salty today. I'm not sure if it was the combination of the two, or just the simple fact that it had that high sodium. Who knows, but I got it down WAAAY easier than any other day, so yay for that! Lol.

After work today I headed to the gym, I managed to get a short walk in before Zumba, and then I got 45 minutes of Zumba in. She ended the class early so that she could get home in time to watch a show. Haha. Silly woman. ;) By the time I got home and cooked dinner and all that mess I had made it up to a little over 8,000 steps. Waaaaay to close to 10k to just leave it right? So I did what any normal person would do and I went outside and walked up and down our side street until I hit those 10,000 steps! That puts me at getting 10k on every single day this week except for my day off. I've NEVER done that before. I LOVE seeing my abilities improve more and more! Oddly enough, I also love feeling these sore muscles...it tells me I'm doing something right!

Alright, I am exhausted, and I have a detoxifying mask on my face that needs washed off! LOL So here's the breakdown of my food choices for today:

Breakfast
Oats w/brown sugar and sugar free syrup = 193 cals

Torture
Apple Cider Vinegar, 11oz V8 = 60 cals

Lunch
Doc's Chili, Cottage Cheese and Cherry Tomatoes = 370 cals

Snack
Almonds = 170 cals

Dinner
Burger on Sandwhich This with Lettuce, Tomato, Pickle, Balsamic Glazed Mushroom and Mayo with Olive Oil, and a side salad = 428 cals

That puts me at 1221 calories totoal for today. And I burnt 910 calories with exercise...according to MyFitness Pal, if every day were like today, I'd weigh 289 pounds in 5 weeks! Lol. That would be 24 pounds...um...yea I sure WISH!!

Goodnight!

October 5th, 2016: This Girl Is On Fire!

Haha...I sound like Alicia Keys in the title...but hey, I'm proud of myself!! I hit over 10,000 steps AGAIN today! I am really enjoying these lunchtime walks while I can.

Work was pretty mundane, I mean..it was work. Lol. I always stay busy in the first half of the month, so I kept busy today for sure. I kept going back and forth on whether or not I wanted to walk today. Yesterday it was sooooo hot! But I was wide awake and didn't need a nap, so I put on my tennis shoes and headed out. The temperature was at least 10 degrees cooler, so I was happy about that, BUT it was WINDY! I'm not talking normal wind, I'm talking about Hurricane wind that was about to knock me over! Lol.

So needless to say, my walk was strenuous and my muscles were burning by the time I was done. It took me a little longer to get my 2 miles in due to the wind. I was WORN OUT by the time I got back! I told Brandon I just needed a nap. Haha.

After sitting for a few hours to do my work, I had to get up for something and OMG my walking muscles!! Haha...like..for real! I wasn't even at 7,000 steps yet and I felt like I needed to crawl in to bed. So after work when I headed to the gym knowing I wasn't going to do a whole lot because I was already exhausted. I did arms and somehow I managed to hit 30 minutes on the Arc Trainer. Then I headed to take care of my bosses kitties.

Once I made it home I cooked up some SUPER yummy steak :) I am pretty sure I could eat steak every day. Haha.

Here is the breakdown of my food choices for today:

Breakfast
Oats with Brown Sugar & Sugar Free maple syrup = 193 cals

Snack
Small Orange = 62 cals

Lunch
Chicken Stir-Fry, Cottage Cheese, Cherry Tomatoes = 296 cals

Snack
Protein Shake & Apple Slices = 240 cals

After Workout
Almonds = 170 cals

Dinner
Petite Sirloin Steak w/ Balsamic Glazed Mushrooms, Green Beans, & Corn = 458 cals

Total Calories for the day is 1419. I feel great about my choices today. I FEEL like this is going to be a good week! Here's hoping I have my feelings in check! Lol

Goodnight!

October 4th 2016: What A Day!

Oh ma goodness! This Apple Cider Vinegar stuff is NO joke y'all! I made me some this morning before I went to work. This time I did a 16oz cup with water, then 2tbs of ACV, squeezed half of a lemon and then added a butt load of that sugar free strawberry drink mix-in stuff in the little squirt bottles..yea that...a bunch! LOL...it wasn't quite as unbearable as the first time, but BLEH! I don't know WHY I torture myself...haha...oh yea...because of the AMAZING health benefits! I've added a pic to show you just SOME of the benefits, if you're interested.

So thanks to the amazing things it is supposed to help with, I am stuck making myself drink it. And I tell ya what, my stomach IS feeling Better! I mean, it's a little yucky after I down that vinegary mess. But about half an hour later, I'm fine, and I really do feel better. Woohoo! My sore throat is a thing of the past, and I couldn't be happier!

My day went by pretty smoothly after that mess. I went for a walk on my lunch break. I did it a little different from the way I have the past few times. I was walking until my FitBit showed a mile, down this field road, and then turned around and walked back. However...that rain scare last week had me a little apprehensive about getting that far away from the office on foot. So, instead, I walked half a mile, then turned back and then once I hit the office, I kept walking on the pavement another half mile in the other direction. Except it wasn't...I didn't account for the loooong driveway at work, and somehow I ended up walking for 55 minutes, which, with me normally walking a 20 minute mile, means that I walked nealy 3 miles. My FitBit showed a little less than 2.5 miles, but I guess it was off, because I drove it and it was more like 2,7 miles. I was EXHAUSTED when I got back to the office! I was ready to take a darn nap! And I hadn't even hit my 7k steps after all that mess!
After work, I headed to the gym and did legs and then Zumba. Then I went and took care of my boss's kitties and came home. Lucky me, Jamie through the meat in the oven, so I threw together a few salads and dinner was served! I'm currently sitting at almost 14k steps for today!! WHAT!?!?! That's an all time record for a work day! Yay for lunchtime walks that feel like torture at the time but feel oh-so-amazing at the end of the day. :)

Here is the breakdown of my amazing food choices today: :)
Breakfast
Oats w/ Splenda Brown Sugar and sugar free syrup = 193
Lunch
Chicken Stir-Fry, Cottage Cheese, Cherry Tomatoes & Sugar Free Monster-Ultra Red = 296 cals
(I needed that energy drink to survive the day after all that walkin'!)
Snack
Bananas & Cream Protein Shake & Black Grapes = 224 cals
After workout
Almonds = 170 cals
Dinner
Boneless Pork Sirloin Chops & Side Salad 378 cals

That lands me at 1261 calories total for the day and a whopping 139 g of Protein and only 90 g of Carbs...that makes me incredibly happy! Lol. Getting those numbers in the right ratios that I need them is insanely difficult and frustrating!
Y'all have a great Hump Day tomorrow!
Goodnight

October 3rd, 2016: Threats at Work!

Well today was an interesting day to say the least! Work was crazy busy, being Monday, and also the beginning of the month. And to make matters a little more interesting we had a disgruntled customer (who got shut off for not paying their bill on time) threaten our company. So we had to get the cops involved and it was a scary morning. I have a window and a hollow door between me and the customers. And I was scared. We didn't know if he would make good on his threat, but being the only female in the office today (my Office Manager is on vacation this week), the men of the office sure made me feel more at ease. There was a man within ear shot the whole time until it was over. It was over when the female "momma" on the account came in. She just wanted to pay her bill like normal and get turned on. She had NO idea what her grandson had said to us. So she was pretty surprised when the VP of our company came out to the Lobby and pretty much told her to get her grandson in check and he better not ever call up to our office again and we don't take kindly to threats, and blah blah blah. It was interesting. And it was over. The Sheriff or a Deputy went to their house and explained to him exactly how seriously we were taking things and I just felt a wave of relief!

What a day! And all of that was before LUNCH! On my lunch I had planned to go for a walk today. But I was just too shook up about it. So, I went to take a nap instead. I was still a little crazed out though, so I didn't get any sleep, but I did rest.

After lunch I ate my lunch. Haha. I made some Chicken Stir-fry last night and it was super yummy. The rest of the afternoon flew by because I had a TON of work to do.

After work, I headed to my bosses house. While she is out of town, I am in charge of her Cattery. She has Ragdoll Cats that she sells and she has this super cool Cattery in her basement where her breeders live. I love going over there and seeing the babies and kitties and showing all the momma's some love. Her big Male cat was sooooo needy today! He thought I should pay attention to only him. Haha. She also had two kittens running loose and they both thought they needed to go into every single kennel area as I cleaned them and refilled food & water. Lol. They were cute, but they sure were in my way!

After that I headed home and met Jamie to go eat Mexican. I was tired and worn out emotionally and physically and I just didn't want to cook. Plus I had plenty of calories left, so I was ready for some Tacos! We ate pretty quick and then headed to check out his progress on our storage unit and put my two cents in. Haha. Oh what a mess! Why must we keep so much CRAP! I could part with about 3x's as much stuff as Jamie can. Maybe even more, but he has his hoarding tendencies and it's just really hard for him to let stuff go.

Anyways, it's now 10:00 and I'm exhausted and ready for bed!

Here is the breakdown of my food choices for today:

Breakfast
Rolled Oats with a tbs of Sugar free syrup and a tsp of Splenda Brown Sugar. YUMMY STUFF = 193 cals

Lunch
Chicken Stir-fry with cottage cheese and cherry tomatoes = 296 cals

Snack
Bananas & Cream Protein Shake & Gala Apple Slices = 240 cals

Dinner
3 Tacos, a serving of Tortilla Chips and Salsa = 775 freakin' calories!

Total for today is 1504 calories. Not too shabby.

Goodnight y'all!

October 1st & 2nd, 2016: Weigh-In #16

Wow! It has been an insanely crazy couple of days. I don't even know if I REMEMBER everything that happened. LOL.

I had said that I would weigh in yesterday, because I had my Employee Outing that night and I knew my diet would NOT be on point and I planned a little cheat night. So I got up and hopped on the scale with a little tiny bit of optimism. 315 is what I weighed last week and then yesterday was 313. So 2 pounds. I was sure hoping for 3, but 2 is ok. I didn't really spend a whole lot of time stressing about it. I had a LOT going on. So 58 pounds are gone. Forever. HOPEFULLY I will hit the 60 pound mark this next week.

I headed to the gym, planning to do Zumba and some more Cardio so that I hit my 10k steps like usual on Saturdays. But...no dice. I didn't have it in me. I did Zumba, had 7,000 steps and that was all I could make myself do. I took a shower at the gym so that I could work on my makeup on the way home to cut down on time. When I got home, I finished getting ready and straightened my hair so that my sis could come over and put those big pretty curls in my hair. Once I was complete, my cousin Jessica was over and we did her hair and makeup. We were looking like some hot sexy mamas!! Haha. Once we were all done, Jamie and I loaded up and headed to Cape early so that we could go to a few places.

I was super excited because we found a few PERFECT Christmas Presents (yes, I've already started, lol, I always start early) and then we HAD to check out the candle sale at Bath & Body works. I may have possibly gotten a few more lotions and sprays that smell amazing too. Hehe. I LOVE that place.

Next we headed over to the Italian Restaurant, Bella Italia, for the beginning of the Employee Outing. We enjoyed some really great food, and had a really nice time. I had not eaten a single thing all day up to that point. I KNOW that's bad, but I REALLY for real wasn't hungry, and I had a Vanilla Light Monster in the morning and then I was running around like crazy and just didn't even miss food. SUCH a WEIRD thing for me!

After dinner we went to the Casino. I decided against wasting my money, haha, and so did Jessica. So we headed up to this Veranda that overlooks the Mississippi River and they have adorable little fireplaces out there and comfy couches and we just had us some Strawberry Daiquiris and visited for a while. Slowly, other people came up to hang out and we really enjoyed ourselves! My favorite tech, who is like a little brother to me, bought some Vegas Bomb Shots (Crown, Peach Schnapps,  & Red Bull), I've never had that stuff before, so I had one. Eww...No, no. Rubbing Alcohol would have tasted better!! LOL. Needless to say, I got a little tipsy and acted like a drunken teenager. Haha, but it was FUN and I enjoyed myself!

On to today.....I got up...and I just had to check the scales to see how bad the damage was. And guess what!???! Still 313! So my night on the town did not cost me any of my progress. Thank GOD.

I worked on organizing and stuff to get ready for our move this morning. That's going to be an ongoing thing for the next few weeks. Then I got ready and headed to the gym. I pushed through YPump and then headed to Zumba. For the first half of class it was a private lesson again. Lol. Afterward, I got a shower and headed out because I was supposed to be doing some pics of an adorable little girl tonight. Well THAT didn't work out because the little girl got hurt. So I headed to get some of my grocery shopping done, then came home and unloaded. Meanwhile my phone was BLOWING UP, because Jamie was cleaning out our storage units and we are selling a ton of stuff. So I got to deal with that while trying to shop and stuff. I came home and unloaded the groceries and then headed to Walmart for the remainder of my weekly torture. Haha. By the time I got home I was STARVED, so I warmed up some Doc's Chili and started working on my lunches. NOW I'm going to finish this up and then finish up my lunches for the week.

Here's the breakdown of my food for yesterday:

Breakfast
Vanilla Light Monster = 100 cals

Dinner
2 servings of Lasagna, 1 serving of this yummy alfredo dish, 2 yeast rolls, and a side salad = 1148 cals

1.25 Strawberry Daiquiri, a one Vegas Bomb Shot = 360 cals

So that was 1608 calories, not too shabby for a Cheat Night. :)

Here is the breakdown for my food choices for today:
Breakfast
3 Eggs, 4 Slices of Turkey Bacon and a quarter cup of Mozzarella Cheese, 390 cals

Before Workout
Protein Shake = 210 cals

Afternoon Snack cuz I missed lunch
Roasted Almonds & Vanilla Light Monster = 270 cals

Dinner
Doc's Chili = 324 cals

1 tsp Honey = 21 cals

Total calories for today was 1215. So that honey is from the new torture I've brought on myself. I heard about these AMAZING Benefits of Apple Cidar Vinegar (with the Mother-whatever that means) and it's good for a TON of things, but most importantly, your digestive tract. So...we all know that I've been having some issues with that. So I'm gonna try it. Even though I may die. Vinegar is NASTY and I'm voluntarily drinking it. Lol. I tried to mask the flavor with some honey and cinnamon and a few other things that I found from a recipe courtesy of Google, but we shall see. Right now, I feel like I have a belly full of vinegar! Hopefully I don't have insane heartburn tonight. LOL.

Sorry so long, I'm shutting up!

Goodnight!
xoxo

September 30th, 2016: It's Fri-Yay!!!

I don't know what it is about a Friday that just puts ya in a good mood! Oh yea..the weekend part. Haha. Well today was no exception. And to make it even better, I got Colton's for lunch and I got an extra 15 minutes on my lunch break today. PLUS I got off an hour early.

As soon as my lunch break started, I threw on some walkin' shoes and headed on my country road walk. It was wonderful. I walked a whole mile away from my office, down a field road (gravel) with the sound of crickets so loud they st
arted making me a little crazy after a while. Haha...then...it started raining. Yup...my luck. I had no choice but to keep on walking. No trees to hide under, no shelter...oh well. The great thing is that it started sprinkling and it never turned in to anything heavier. Thank Goodness!

Knowing that I was getting off early (to make up for staying late on Monday for that outage) made my afternoon FLY by...until 3:30...then it moved slower than all get out. Haha.

After work I headed to the gym and did arm torture, and then I pushed out 20 minutes on the Elliptical, which was very difficult. I knew I already had that walk in, and I did NOT feel like doing anything else. I have got to fix my mindset about that. I want the walking to be an EXTRA thing, not a replacement. Dang it.

Next, I went to my bosses house to pick up a little timid kitty. I'm going to spend some time with her this week and try to get her more used to people. :) When I got home, my sister and her kiddos came over to hang out with her and visit and they thoroughly terrified her. LOL. She got on Jamie's neck and stuck like glue until he put her down. It was sooooo cute.

And now I'm about to put some finishing touches on a wreath that I am delivering tomorrow, and then I'm getting things organized for tomorrow and hitting the hay! I feel EXHAUSTED!

Here is the breakdown for my food choices today:

Breakfast
Oatmeal with Sugar Free Maple Syrup & a tsp of Brown Sugar and unsweetened Almond Milk = 188 cals

Snack
Banana = 90 cals

Lunch
Colton's: Mesquite Grilled Chicken with Rice Pilaf and Broccoli and a roll (no butter) = 554 cals (ouch!)

Snack
Almonds = 170 cals

Dinner
2 cups of Doc's Chili and a serving of Multiseed Crackers = 454 cals

Total for the day is 1456 calories. I burnt 1,000 calories today, so HOPEFULLY, the scale is my friend tomorrow. Lol. We shall see.

Goodnight
xoxo

September 29th, 2016: Brrr...It's Fall in Here!

Yea...definitely got my wish...Fall weather is HERE!! Lol. And I absolutely LOVE it!! I was slightly unprepared for such a big drop in temperature though. It went from capri's and short sleeve weather to pants and jacket weather overnight. Lol. Craziness! But you aren't gonna hear me complain. I am so, so happy! Lol.

So I had to crank the heat on the way to work. Haha. But I got to work early today which was crazy. I never get to work early! But I slept like crap and got up early.

I didn't get a walk in on my lunch today because I was soooo sleepy by that point. So I took me a nap! It made my afternoon much better.

After work I headed to the Y. I had a short Elliptical ride planned, but when I got to the Y my mom called me needing help with her tablet. So she met me at the Y and I helped her before I went to Zumba. Zumba was a short one today (45 minutes) because the instructor had somewhere to be at 7, so I did NOT get a good calorie burn in today. Only a little over 500 calories. But I was super sore from last night and I hit my step goal, so I called it good. Lol.

I came home and cooked some yummy steak and then hung out with my nephews for a bit. We got our close date on our house moved up from October 24th to the 11th. So, if all goes well, we will be moving in just a few short weeks! Eeek! We have already begun packing the things we don't use much. I'm excited!

Here is the breakdown of my food choices for today:

Breakfast
Rolled Oats with Honey and a tsp of Creamer = 230 cals

Snack
Banana = 90 cals

Lunch
Garlic Herb Chicken, Mutligrains, baby carrots, green beans, and 2 string cheese = 349 cals

Snack
Grapes = 64 cals

Afterworkout Snack
Almonds = 170 cals

Dinner
Petite Sirloin Steak, Salad and a small baked potato with sour cream and salsa = 558 cals

That puts me at 1461 cals today. I had a really bad "hungry" day today where I just couldn't get satisfied all dang day! So staying under 1500 calories is a pretty big accomplishment for me today.

Goodnight y'all!

September 28th, 2016: Leg Day

Wednesday...Hump Day. Do you know what that actually means? It means that you are over the 'hump' of the work week. And am I EVER glad to have gotten over the Hump of this week! Lol. Work wasn't too difficult, same old, same old. But I slept really well last night, so I wasn't sleepy, so I decided to go for a walk.

I was so proud of myself for actually doing something on my lunch! I walked two whole miles! And let me just tell ya...it felt GREAT! After work I had to go get my swim on! But first...legs! It's been waaaay to long since I've done weights. So I got the leg stuff done and then I went swimming with my cousins, Jessica and Star. I actually felt fine until I started swooshing around in the water, then my stomach started hurting again. Boo.

We did about an hour workout in the pool and then we went to the sauna for a bit. And that's it. I hit my 7,000 steps on a swim day thanks to my lunch time walk! That makes me super happy! I think I'm going to take advantage of as much as I can while the weather holds. It's sooooo beautiful out there right now! And I sure do love being able to have the windows open!

Alright that's all I've got for today.

Here's the breakdown of my food choices for today:

Breakfast
Steel Cut Oats with Almond Milk & Peach Preseves = 225 cals

Lunch
Garlic Herb Chicken, Multigrains, Green Beans, Baby Carrots, Lite Sting Cheese = 349 cals

Snack
Apple Slices = 80 cals

Snack
2 boiled eggs = 120 cals

Dinner
2.5 cups Dc's Chili, V8 Fruit Fusion = 455 cals

That puts me at 1229 calories total for today. I'm quite happy with that. :) And that's all I've got for tonight. Y'all have a great day tomorrow!

Goodnight

September 27th, 2016: Oh ma Tummy!

Today was a hard day. Not because of my weightloss life, but because I felt like POO! Seriously, all day long...bleh. It was a very long day at work with me feeling ready to lay down. And I couldn't. Sooooo...it was torture. Lol.

I made it through the day and went to the gym, even though I REALLY didn't want to. I knew I had to though. So I warmed up for 10 minutes on the Elliptical and then I did an hour of Zumba and that was all I had in me. I burnt a little over 800 calories and I say that's pretty good for how poorly I feel.

I came home and warmed up the rest of my Chinese food and had dinner. My sister needed to get meds for her boys, so they hung out with us for a bit and that was it.

Now I'm ready for an early night!

Here is the breakdown of my food choices today:

Breakfast
Oats with Almond Milk and All Natural Peach Preserves = 225 cals

Lunch
Herbed Chicken, Multigrain Mix, Green Beans, Baby Carrots, 2 string cheese = 399 cals

Snack
Apple Slices & Strawberry Shortcake Greek Mousse = 160 cals

Snack
Oven Roasted, unsalted Almonds = 170 cals

Dinner
Brocolli Beef with Water Chestnuts & Mushrooms = 294 cals

Total Calories for the day is 1198, but I'm having a glass of V8 Fruit Fusion Juice before bed, because I love it. :)

Goodnight!

September 26th, 2016: Progress

First of all, I want to say thank you all so much who have shared kind words and advice after I posted my blog. I'm nowhere near giving up. I am just frustrated! I've got this y'all. Really! Really, really. Lol.

So today was the end of another DietBet. I finished my 3rd or 4th one successfully. And tonight I started another one. So I decided to do a side by side of my first DietBet (I started it the very first day I began eating healthy again) and then today.

Um...ok...I can see THAT difference. Lol. Sheesh! That makes me excited!

Today was absolute craziness at wor
k. One of my co-workers was sick as a dog, so he went home about 30 minutes after he came in and the chaos soon followed. The work day was mostly just a steady busy until 3:30. At that time about half of our customers lost their internet access. Out of nowhere our phones started ringing off of the hook! About 1500 people without internet and only 2 people answering the phones. Talk about a mess!

So I ended up staying late to answer the phones, and then I went to Lowes (since today is my day off at the gym) and looked at the appliances so that I could get an idea of what we wanted if we get the house.

I had planned to come home and cook a big pot of Doc's Chili, but I came out of Lowe's and smelled Chinese Food and ended up getting dinner there.

I came home and spent some time with my hubby and then I went to see my little nephews. :) I love playing with them. And now my momma is here talking my ear off while I am writing this. Haha, so who know what I'm typing!

Here is the breakdown of my food choices for today:

Breakfast
Steel Cut Oats (that was interesting to cook) with Peach all natural Fruit Spread and cooked in Almond Milk = 225 cals

Lunch
Garlic Herb Chicken, Mutigrain Mix, Green Beans (no salt added, proud of that), baby carrots, 2 string cheese = 399 cals

Snack
Almonds = 170 cals

Snack
Peaches N Cream Greek Yogurt, and a small orange = 162 cals

Dinner
Black Pepper Chicken (tooooo much), Breaded Shrimp with cocktail sauce = 535 cals

That put me at 1491 calories for today. Which is totally fine, especially since yesterday was so low. So there we have it. Y'all have a good night. ;) I'm having some Honey Vanilla Chamomile Tea and hoping to fall asleep soon!

Goodnight

September 25th, 2016: Weigh-in #15

I was nervous, yet excited to weigh in today. I burned plenty of calories at the gym this week, and despite a bit of fair food this week, I made very healthy choices for the week as a whole. After having two of the last three weeks give me a pound or less lost, I was still nervous though.

I got on the scale, and seriously saw one of my biggest fears. Only. One. Pound. Better than nothing, but NOT ok for me. I've never had this happen to me before. I did the work. It's supposed to show.

So I did a google search about plateau's...not helpful. The jest of it was this: #1 Change up your routine (I do that constantly), #2 If you are eating crap to stay under your calories, eat better (I don't do that), #3 Cut out Diet Sodas (don't drink em), #4 Count your calories (pshhh, duh!) and if you follow these guidelines you will break through your plateau unless you have a medical condition (ie: Diabetes, Thyroid Issue, PCOS, ) DING DING DING...well what if you DO have one of those?? Then what? Yea, the info out there is non-existent nearly. I did read that people with PCOS are more successful with weight-loss when they get 200 active minutes of exercise per week and at least a third of that is strength training. What a JOKE. I had almost 400 active minutes last week. Lol. And that was a LIGHT week for me.

So, I'm sure you can see my frustration here. I go to see the lady doctor in a few weeks and I'm going to talk to him about what I'm doing and what's going on. I've tried Metformin in the past and it made me sick to my stomach. But, I'm willing to try anything at this point. The Metformin is for diabetes so it helps with the insulin resistance that I get from the PCOS. I just hope he can give me some information to help me. Otherwise, I may go nuts.

I feel like I've done all this hard work for 3 weeks, sacrificed having a life, eating yummy stuff, and been sore pretty much every day, for no dang reason. It's really hard. So needless to say, I spent my late morning in tears. I ate lunch and barley made it through because I was so upset. But I picked myself up and got my crap together and headed to the gym. I had filled my cousin Jessica in on what was going on, and thankfully she came up to the Y to work out with me. I needed her. She lifts my spirits and validates my feelings. And just, straight up makes me feel better. It was exactly what I needed. We went to YPump and got our butts kicked, then headed over to Zumba and got them kicked in a totally different way, lol. Afterward I had almost 9,000 steps and she was right behind me, so we went upstairs to walk until we got our steps in. Then we headed to the sauna to sweat it out.

I left in a MUCH better mood than I arrived in. Working out does that for me. It's like those endorphins kick in and I'm good to go. We went and grabbed some groceries and then headed to Cato to see if we could find a shirt for Jess for the outing we are going to this upcoming Saturday. She found a couple of super cute shirts and I found some jeans! They have size 28's and since the 26's I bought were really snug on my thunder thighs, I decided to try a pair on. Crazy thing...they were too big. Wow. So I got a pair of 26's. They were perfect there. So yay. Except they are waaaay too long. LOL. So thankfully, I have a sister that can sew and she is taking them up for me. They came down like 2 inches past my toes! Haha.

I headed back to Dexter feeling 100% better. Dropped off my groceries and headed to Walmart for a few other things. Mom and Dad met me at home and we had us a little BBQ. I barbequed drumsticks for Jamie and I and threw some hotdogs on for them. I also cooked up some chicken for me for lunch this week and made up my lunches while the chicken legs were taking forever to cook. I love getting to spend time with them. I don't think I got enough time though. :)

Now I'm all done, haven't ate enough calories today, but I really don't even care. I did try something new today. Lipton Green Tea that has Dragonfruit and Acai and melon...yum! I added some stevia for sweetener and a fourth cup of Vanilla Almond Milk...it was sooooo good!! I think I'm in love! I also got some Vanilla Caramel Chamomile Tea to try too :)

Here's the breakdown of my food today:

Breakfast
Vanilla Light Monster Java = 100 cals

Lunch
Taco Salad = 429 cals

Snack
Salted Caramel Greek Yogurt Mousse and Amonds = 180 cals

Dinner
2 Chicken Legs w/bbq sauce, and a salad = 314 cals

Almond milk for 2 teas = 15 cals

That puts me at 1025 calories for today. Here's hoping for a great week this week. I'm going to change up my breakfasts this week. I'm burnt out on smoothies right now. I'm going to be doing my next weigh in on Saturday morning because our employee outing is that night and I am NOT counting calories that night. Very first cheat meal since I started. I probably shouldn't, but we are eating at an Italian Restaurant that has amazing bread with olive oil and seasonings and I plan to eat too much of it, so forewarning. A good Cheat Meal might actually do me some good, who know. We shall see.

Love you guys, have a great Monday tomorrow.

Goodnight!

September 24th, 2016: What a Week!

Geez Louise it has been a crazy week for me! I  so glad to see it come to an end. I mean, I stay busy usually anyways, but this week...no, no, no. Too darn much!

My day started with me getting and getting ready for the gym. I got up at 7:30 for some crazy reason. I normally get up at 8 because I have to leave at 8:30, but I was so worn out last night that I went to bed at a decent hour.

I took advantage of my early morning and put away some clothes, and then I got ready for the gym. My sister actually went with me, so I caught a free ride, lol. We did Zumba and then walked, and then did some Arc Trainer torture. I ended up leaving the gym with my 10,000 steps, which is always my goal on Saturdays. So I was feeling accomplished.

I headed home and got me a shower and cooked my lunch and Jamie's dinner and before I knew it, it was already PAST time to be at the fair! Sheesh. Always running late these days. It makes me crazy!

Once I got to the fair I went ahead and ate the supper yummy and healthy lunch I made. My goal was to stay away from all fair food today since I weigh in tomorrow. No such luck. I shared a tate
r pile with Barb. Don't judge me. Lol.

So we stuck it out at our booth until around 6:30ish, and then we decided to pack it up. It was dead in the back of the Vendor Barn. We weren't getting hardly any hits at all. So we called it a day and packed it up and loaded everything up.Then I went walking around the fair with Barb and her family while her girls tried to barf. Lol. I do NOT have a stomach like that anymore! JUST watching them made me so nauseated that I had to look away. Haha. I guess that's part of getting old. Or maybe the fact that I get motion sickness pretty easily. Lol.

So we did that and then I headed home. My stomach is hurting yet again. I think this time may be from the heat, I don't know, but I'm ready for that mess to go away. And now I'm going to be lazy and watch the America's Got Talent finale and hopefully eat some Doc's Chili in a bit. :)

Here's the breakdown of my food choices for today:

Breakfast
Fit & Active Protein Bar = 190 cals

Afterworkout
Vanilla Light Monster Java = 100 cals

Lunch
4 oz Pork Chop, Brown Rice, Green Beans = 334 cals

Afternoon Snack
Part of a Potato Pile w/Cheese = 270 cals

Dinner
Doc's Chili w/a side Salad 345 cals

And there you have it. Tomorrow morning we shall see if all of my hard work translates on the scale. I sure hope so! I've worked hard trying to get my calorie burn in at the gym and even though I've had a bit of fair food, I definitely had very little and kept it in check. So here's hoping! (Fingers Crossed!)

Goodnight!

September 23rd, 2016: Makeover Craziness

What a loooong day! This will be a short one because I didn't get a chance to write any of it at the fair and I'm exhausted and ready for Sleep!

I worked a 4 hour day again today. It was lovely. I wish I could work 4 hour days EVERY day. Lol. Who wouldn't like that? Especially if you could get paid to do that! Heck yea, where do I sign up!?

Anywho, work went smooth, I got the important stuff done and then headed out of there. I was ready for some workout. Who am I kidding? No I wasn't! Lol. My stomach hurt (yes, again) and I just wanted to go home and crawl into bed and stay there for the remainder of the day. But that just wasn't in the cards for me and I knew it. So I headed to the gym.

I started with 30 whole minutes on the Elliptical. I rarely do that because that machine is harder on my joints and I talk myself off of it after 15 to 20 minutes usually. But I was watching the Bold and the Beautiful, and the time really did go by pretty quickly. Next I went upstairs to walk. I started watching this new show called Bull, and after 10 minutes of walking, I thought I could watch it better from the Arc Trainer. Lol. So I did 20 minutes on the Arc Trainer. Well then I still hadn't hit my 7K steps for the day (I was aiming for 10K today) so I started walking again. I walked for another half hour and ended up with a little over 9k steps, which I knew I would get to 10k by that point so I packed it up and headed home.

Once home I had some lunch and watched today's episode of the Bold & the Beautiful. Haha. I was a little behind from being so crazy busy all week. It was nice to sit and relax for a bit. My sister came over while her boys were sleeping (we leave both apartment door open so we can hear since we are right across the hall from each other) and we ended up having a nice visit. So nice, in fact, that I totally forgot that I was cooking dinner for myself. LOL.

So now it was time to go and I had nothing for dinner. Yay for Subway! Haha.

Off to the fair I went. I was expecting a crazy busy night. Well it was busy alright. But not in the way I had expected. Our booth was pretty dead. So sad. But I got to see a LOT of friends & family today and that made it an awesome night! I also got to put on makeup for 4 people today and that was super fun. :) Two of those people were my besties daughters. I've been wanting to get my hands on them for a while. And we surely had fun! Plus one of my other besties brought her family out to the fair and I got to spent a lot of quality time with her too. My mom and day came out too and my dad was cracking me UP tonight. He was in a really good mood and he's always funny when he is, so we just had a good time.

I had a little bit of fair food today, not much, so I feel pretty ok about it. I haven't had a homemade corn dog and that's what I would LOVE to have, but I imagine it has about 600 calories in it, and I'm just not doing that! Lol.

I found me some super cute little divided Tupperware containers to use for my lunches tonight. I love building up my containers so I have some different options. I'm all about options these days! I've learned that I'm ok with eating the same thing for lunch all week, so long as I get a little variety in my dinner. And I'm growing tired of the same smoothies every day, so I may be changing those up soon.

Here's the breakdown of my food today:

Breakfast
PB Smoothie & a cup of coffee with a hot chocolate packet (I know, bad, but oh so good, lol) = 320 cals

Snack
Almonds = 100 cals

Lunch
Multigrains with Veggies, chicken, baby carrots, 2 string cheese = 416 cals

Snack
Popcorn = 100 cals

Dinner
6inch Turkey Sup with Provalone, about 1/8 of a Blooming Onion, and seriously one bite of Funnel Cake = 408 cals

That puts me at 1344 calories for today. I think I'm doing pretty darn good for being around all of that yummy fair food every day! It's torture! But I'm making it work. I really hope it shows up on the scale this week dang it!

Goodnight y'all! Have a great Saturday!
